Camper Safety and Care
Safety! The cornerstone of what we do at Armada PAL Camp is making each child's safety our highest priority. Our safety standards are designed to meet or exceed the requirements of the American Camp Association, with the underlying desire to treat each camper as if they were our own.
Your child’s safety is our top priority at PAL Camp. While we can’t guarantee they won’t get sick or injured, we do everything we can to create a secure, healthy environment where they can learn and grow. That starts with well-trained staff and strong safety standards.
We care for every camper like they’re our own. From managing medications and allergies to keeping things clean and preventing illness, we take a full-circle approach to wellness. We also focus on the “Big 5”: hand washing, hydration, nutrition, rest, and sun protection.

Armada PAL Camp has a licensed nurse and Health Director on-site and on-call to handle any health needs or emergencies. While we can’t prevent every illness or injury, our medical team is here to keep campers safe and focused on having FUN!
The nurse manages medications, treats minor issues, and promotes healthy habits. We’re also close to emergency services in Cadillac, if needed.
Be sure to complete your child’s health form and turn in all medications to the nurse on departure day so they’re ready for a safe, healthy week!

Safety on the WaterfrontOur waterfront is packed with fun—swimming, a waterslide, boats, and the blob! But safety is our top priority.
All campers take a swim test when they arrive, guided by our certified lifeguards. This helps us make sure each camper is confident in the water. If your child isn’t a strong swimmer, that’s okay—we have a shallow area just for them. Our lifeguards, trained by our waterfront director Vince, are certified in Lifeguarding, First Aid, CPR, and AED. They go through special camp-specific training each year and use a check-in/check-out system along with regular buddy checks to keep everyone safe while enjoying Center Lake. We run a tight ship so the waterfront stays safe—and fun—for everyone! |
Kindness MattersAt Armada PAL Camp, we believe every camper deserves an amazing experience. While behavior issues are rare, we address anything that impacts others quickly and respectfully.
Our staff is trained to handle bullying, violence, and other challenges, as well as support campers facing mental health concerns like anxiety, depression, or ADHD. PAL Camp is built on friendship, kindness, and inclusion—because every kid deserves a PAL! |
