Camp Programs

Lasting memories, new experiences, and best friends are what makes PAL Camp so special. As a local leader in youth development since 1984, PAL Camp provides campers with inclusive, positive and enriching experiences that build confidence, friendships, and a sense of belonging that lasts long after camp has ended.

Base Camp Program (5th-7th Grade)

Our Base Camp program is designed for our 5th–7th grade campers and centered around adventure, connection, independence, and fun. From campfires and flashlight tag to water carnival, Records Day, and all-camp activities, campers take part in traditions and experiences that help build confidence, friendships, and lifelong memories.

Each day, campers also choose classes where they can try new things, learn skills, and challenge themselves. Alongside camp favorites like archery, boating, riflery, and arts & crafts, campers may also experience unique PAL activities that change from year to year — helping every camper discover something they love.

As the oldest campers at Base Camp, 7th graders take on an added level of independence, leadership, and responsibility throughout the week. In addition to participating in Base Camp traditions, they also take part in team competitions, special activities, and experiences designed specifically for their age group — helping prepare them for future leadership opportunities at PAL Camp.

8th Grade High-Adventure Program

A camper’s experience beyond Base Camp is built around adventure, independence, and leadership. In their final year as campers, our 8th graders officially “fly the nest” into High Adventure Camp — a unique experience designed specifically for PAL’s oldest campers.

While still connected to the larger camp community, 8th graders camp separately from Base Camp with their own bonfire space and their own lodge — The Cody Lodge — named in honor of beloved legacy counselor Cody Pagan. This added independence helps create a strong sense of identity, teamwork, and tradition within the group.

High Adventure Camp experiences may include overnight offsite hiking and rustic camping, a trip to Sleeping Bear Dunes, a 50-foot high ropes course, zip line, paintball, climbing tower, and more. Designed to challenge campers, strengthen friendships, and create unforgettable memories, High Adventure Camp serves as a meaningful final chapter in the PAL camper experience. Spots are limited.
